Rhodes' TIP
The Creation of Rhodes’ TIP
During 1977- 1981 Jerry Rhodes worked with the Deva Research Project among
knowledge workers and managers in a multi-national company and discovered the
21 Thinking-Intentions.
Subsequently, he conducted a series of experiments to test whether a profiling
instrument could be built using the thinking-intentions discovered in the Deva
project.
The creation of Rhodes’ TIP took a year, 1983-4. Testing and adjustment
continued, to establish the robust instrument that it now is.
The instrument provides three levels of depth, chosen according to need and
time available. Each level can be accessed from the same instrument so it does
not have to be repeated. Hence the most advanced knowledge workers and managers
can go deep, while a broader cross section of people can take a shorter path.
Yet they can both share the same insights into their minds through the same
language of thought.
A paper called
Validity of Rhodes’ TIP’ is available. See also Services/Products.

Validity Analysis of over fifty thousand users, during two decades, with
much repeat usage in the same organisations, demonstrates the high
validity of Rhodes’ TIP.
Translations Rhodes’ TIP has been translated into five languages.
Each translation brings fresh insight into the subtleties of language and
thought. This further enhances validity.
