Rhodes' TIP
How does Rhodes’ TIP work?
Rhodes’ TIP is the short-hand name for the Thinking-Intentions Profile™
created by Jerry Rhodes. It is a well-crafted instrument leading to improved
thinking performance.
It is the CENTRAL tool in the E I toolkit of instruments which all, in
different ways, expand and improve quality of thought. It is always delivered
by qualified practitioners, who give live debriefing, training and coaching.
Rhodes’ TIP is a user-friendly way to identify the individual patterns of mind
which shape how people tackle problems. It introduces the concept of
thinking-intentions as the route to enhancement and enlargement of thought.
The extensive use of Rhodes’ TIP, over nearly two decades, has demonstrated
its value as a tool for revealing the thinking styles of groups and individuals
in many different cultures, including North America, Europe and Asia.
The special advantage of Rhodes’ TIP is that it can be used not only for
personal coaching and teamworking, but also for whole organisation development.
This breadth enables a business to adopt Rhodes’ TIP through many channels, all
at once or one after another. There is scope to bring it to everyone rapidly or
to pace its entry, selecting the areas of most urgent need first.

Rhodes' TIP With this one thinking tool you have the keys to all
others used in your organisation.
This is not an idle claim because Rhodes’ TIP enables
you to see the thinking operations embedded in all tools - physical or mental.
All problem-solving and creative endeavour is
undertaken through the use of tools, especially ‘tools of the mind’.
Understand the thinking in a tool, and you understand
the tool and how to use it well, in your work and with other people.
This is effective intelligence.
