Origins of Effective Intelligence

Effective Intelligence was created in business, for business. It arose from a penetrating question posed in 1977 to a small research team in Philips, the Dutch multinational:“Can we raise our performance around the world by improving how we solve problems and make decisions?”.

Twenty-one Thinking Operations

The research team made a unique breakthrough in understanding how thinking works. They discovered the 21 fundamental operations of mind which, in combination, ‘map’ all difficult tasks. Philips benefits from this methodology of Thinking-Intentions to this day, a sure validation of the research. Thousands of their staff have been, and continue to be, trained with the knowhow.

Spreading the benefits

Jerry Rhodes retained the rights to take the findings worldwide. From 1981, in order that other businesses could benefit, he undertook hundreds of practical projects in which he created and tested a series of programmes. And to make them more widely available, qualified practitioners in Europe, North America, South Africa now deliver them. For information please visit E I Network
